    Interscholastic Conference

    For Educators/Teachers:

    Dear guest,

The Bridge of Letters Philosophy Club, at Northfield Mount Hermon School, is inviting you to its first interscholastic conference on April 19, 2025! (You may forward this information to the philosophy club/ related student interest groups as applicable.) Philosophy among high school students is a great medium through which revolutionary thoughts emerge, and an interscholastic event makes this possible.

    --- Event Structure ---

This conference takes 2.5 hours in total, and consists of 30-minute seminars in which students present their previously-done academic work related to religion, philosophy, or relevant humanities inquiries. Students will self-design their usage of time. Useful features include a slideshow presentation, a discussion session, and/or a Q&A session for the audience.
Participants will submit previously done work to a faculty advisor at their school, who will be connecting with us. Their work can either be a paper or a slideshow, which their chosen faculty member will forward to us upon their approval.
Students are encouraged to collaborate. For example: If I did research on Nietzsche, and my classmate did theirs on Sartre, then we could collaborate to present a seminar on existentialism. (Topics can be broader.)

    --- Basic Information ---

    When: April 19, 2025.   6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. EST.

Where: Northfield Mount Hermon School, Blake Student Center, 1 Lamplighter Way, Gill, MA.

Ceremony: Each participant will receive a certificate of participation, with recognition and sponsorship by PLATO (Philosophy Learning and Teaching Organization, a UNESCO member), and Northfield Mount Hermon School.

    View the sample certificate here.
